Halo Infinite Co-Op Campaign – Why You Have To Wait | GameSpot News

Rate this post

In today’s GameSpot News, DeVante goes over Halo Infinite co-op delays, December’s free Games With Gold, and more.

Halo development boss Joseph Staten has commented on the delay of Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op feature, saying Halo and co-op are synonymous, so it was “very, very hard” to choose to delay the feature, but it was essential so the team could prioritize other areas and get the game out the door this holiday.

Later in the video, DeVante talks about which free games Xbox players can look forward to playing next month. Starting December 1, Xbox gold members can grab The Escapists 2 and Orcs Must Die, with the latter only being available until December 15. Starting on the 16th, members can grab Tropico 5: Penultimate Edition as well as Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.

Lastly, in other Xbox-related news, the Series X Mini Fridge is reportedly louder than most would like. Our very own Gabe Gurwin recently set up his fridge and found that it is “easily as loud or louder than the actual Xbox Series X or PS5 when they have discs spinning.”

  1. They delayed the game a year… there is no excuse other than “we just now realized if we don’t put it in it will tick off a lot of fans”…

  2. after getting my hands on the Halo edition elite controller and razer headphone..
I think I will pass the mini fridge
it's real cool but.. not that useful :/

  3. Sounds to me like a purposeful delay to force people to come back and try it out when it does launch. Unless the campaign is substantially altered, there is no way it should take 5 months.

  4. As a customer I always choose co-op. It's not as fun alone going thru the game. Even if it's at a lower resolution or frame rate. As a single player I don't care personally.

  5. I wanted co-op bottom line.. a delay would've been preferable. this kind of bull is why I absolutely hate gaming anymore… release the game finish it later.. or half finish it later.. least they got those micro transactions done.

  6. the xbox minifridge is just a over complicated cooler, If I got one I would have dry ice in the bottom to cool the contents of the minifridge

  7. Might as well have just kept Halo in development until everything is ready for May release, I'm definitely not going to play a half game

  8. I'm not mad at halo I'm just disappointed no coop but there's a battle pass yup I guess I should of known good thing I didn't buy the game

  9. Halo without co op is not halo, im no gaming engineer but this cant be a hard problem for them with the billions of dollars backing them. Shame

  10. Someone in 343 management should be fired for this decision – it’s downright irresponsible. The best halo experience is playing the campaign with a friend – especially the first time. 343 industry cannot stop earning disrespect

  11. Not buying the Infinite campaign until co-op is added, I've watched some playthrough form a friend it looks good however I find it funny how the marines pathfinding is a bit broken lol I mean I wouldn't have minded if they just released the multiply for now and delayed the campaign until they got co-op up too, that way the path finding on the mnarines wouldn't be a little broken.

They follow you, but it's more like the follow your path than the character itself like most halo titles, like you can go around across the map and then back up top, you'd think they'd stop where you are as we'd expect, but nope! instead they literally follow the steps you took so they can end up passing you just so they can complete the path you took and go all the way around until they've reached where you've stopped. SO you can end up without any Marine back up in the game lol

  12. Not buying mini fridge. I already can't stand how loud consoles are. I have to constantly have a headset on or turn up the TV so loud it bothers everyone else in the house.

  13. Given that the game is available through xCloud, I think it was a huge misstep for 343 to decide to make it run natively on the Xbox One. It could have easily been stream only on the X1

  14. Nope this is unacceptable. They should have waited to release the game when its actually finished. 343 this is a load of BS who in there right mind wants to play Halo without co-op. Its one of the few games you can play with friends/family. I'm very disappointed

  15. i honestly would prefer the game release with co op. now n days developers release incomplete games knowing they can finish it with updates. i will not play campaign until release of coop.

  16. I’m getting my wife into Halo after her friend invited us to play online when the multiplayer first released. Super bummed that there’s no co-op so we can train her skills together, offline

  17. Litterally makes no sense not adding coop and then making us wait till may when we are already bored with the game and campaign

  18. I don't want a blood split screen. Just make it so you can join in with you own player on you own xbox or playstation on your own tv

  19. I have a question about how this will work, coming from someone who has fully experienced only the halo infinite campaign… how would multi-player work with a master chief campaign? Does the other player also play as master chief? Or would they just be their multi-player customized spartan?
